Me and my husband decided to have “a cheeky weeks holiday” we usually go for two weeks in the summer but we thought we would give somewhere else a try (we usually go to Italy) so we booked a Gite just outside Bergerac. The Gite was called Le Bois De Penaud and is run by a lovely couple called Julie and Jerry and their gorgeous 4 legged friends (all which are rescue animals) Honey and Salsa the dogs, Tenka and Kylie the cats and 2 lovely horses. The place is absolutely beautiful so peaceful and quiet and the pool area is a pleasure to be in, it’s a lovely size, Jerry keeps it immaculate with sun loungers and a stone table and chairs, just lovely.
Anyway enough of that we had 3 days of lovely sunshine and the other 3 were a bit iffy but we did manage to get out to a lovely village called St. Emilion a beautiful little village with many shops selling wine as the region is teaming with vineyards. There were some lovely old architecture and some fascinating buildings, I have put some pictures underneath.
I know this doesn’t have much to do with upcycling furniture but what the heck, we had a lovely time at the gite and Bergerac is a lovely town with quite a lot going on.
Pictures of the 4 legged friends and they were very well behaved.
